RETAIL & BAKERY PROJECT “VAN STAPELE” PICTURES ONLINE!
Studio Modijefsky recreates the enchanting atmosphere of a tiny shop of wonders on a grander scale. Since 2014 Van Stapele has been baking the best cookies in Amsterdam: a single brown chocolate cookie with a heart of white chocolate. The secret recipe creates an irresistible delicacy that draws epic queues every day. Originally nestled in a tiny alley in the heart of the city, the bakery’s popularity led to it moving to a larger store a stone’s throw away. Studio Modijefsky was entrusted with ensuring that none of Van Stapele’s charm was lost in the expansion.

Studio Modijefsky revives a building’s history to create a glamourous destination for food and film. De Witt used to be The Movies, a large cinema located on a square in the heart of Dordrecht. By adding an all-day brasserie to the three existing screens, De Witt offers a new combination of fantastic flavours and visual entertainment in- and outside the cinema. Studio Modijefsky was commissioned to breathe new life into what had become a dilapidated space.

ESTHER STAM IN JURY FRAME AWARDS
Esther Stam contributes to a diverse panel of jury members representing various professions and disciplines, united by a common expertise in design. This group of 15 creatives will collaboratively evaluate and determine the top projects and products in the upcoming FRAME Awards competition in February '24.

residential project “ZANDPAD” INTERIOR PICTURES!
Home Zandpad is a 17th century building in the middle of a green oasis, with a river on one side and an orchard and garden on the other. In its previous incarnations it has been an inn, bakery, and café, resulting in lots of small rooms spread across different levels. A desire to transform it into a modern family home required a rebuild from the ground up. All that would remain would be the 17th century façade. As it was impossible to extend the boundaries of the house, Studio Modijefsky, together with architect Jules Zwijsen, involved from the start to ensure the space’s maximum potential could be realised for a family that loves gardening, cooking and entertaining.

We’ve created a home from home for Amsterdam’s hottest young chef, Angelo Kremmydas. After establishing his reputation across the city, he’s finally opening his first restaurant in West Amsterdam: Gitane. Angelo wanted it to embody his culinary signature: refined food that reflects a mix of cultures and flavours, served without fuss. Studio Modijefsky translated this vision into a casual but elegant spatial design that radiates a welcoming atmosphere from inside to out.

We are designing the extension for one of our favourite projects: bistro bar Bonnie. Situated in a corner building on the south side of Amsterdam on the busy Amstelveenseweg, just a stone’s throw away from Vondelpark!

Booking.com HQ Campus - RESTAURANT 5TH FLOOR!
There are three restaurants in the gigantic campus. On the 5th floor is the Chef’s Restaurant, where every season an expert chef is invited to create a special menu to be served here. The first is Joris Bijdendijk, of Michelin starred restaurants Rijks and Wils. To set the Chef’s Restaurant apart from the other choices available to employees, we have created a spatial design concept that translates the joy of travelling into a collection of islands, each of which offers a destination for a new experience and atmosphere.

Booking.com HQ Campus - Connectors!
The Connectors are bright spaces with direct sunlight and expansive views over Amsterdam. Their dual function reflects the fact that an office is no longer just a place to work, it is somewhere to be at your best. What might have been plain meeting rooms close to staircases have been transformed into dynamic spaces that challenge employees to break out of their routines.
We are very proud to share the result!

We are designing a retail experience with an authentic and distinctive look, a fusion between a bakery & shop for a well-known Amsterdam brand. As a household name in Amsterdam and far beyond, this will become an inviting and impressive location in the centre of Amsterdam.

At just 39m2, this snug old bar on the corner of a canal in Amsterdam is the smallest ever designed by Studio Modijefsky. But what it may lack in size, it more than makes up for with charm and elegance. A bold, modern yet inviting interior will make Marcella one of the city’s new hotspots.

There’s a new beacon in North Amsterdam luring people to cross the river IJ: Polly Goudvisch. As soon as you step off the ferry, it’s just a few steps to the playful lettering of the Polly logo outside and the vast terrace that offer an irresistible invitation to step inside.

Studio Modijefsky is designing a new iconic hotel in the city centre of Amsterdam, stone’s throw away of Dam Square. A place with a rich history, in a beautiful art-deco style building, constructed in 1908.

At Studio Modijefsky we are looking forward to a year full of beautiful new projects. Such as finish building Polly Goudvisch, De Witt, Booking.com HQ, Home Zandpad, G-Star RAW Area, Ami, Bruincafé Marcella and several new bars, restaurants and retail spaces. We will also continue designing a bar & all day café on the new A-Pier of Schiphol, a new hotel assignment and the women's department of de Bijenkorf Amsterdam!
